DeLaMare Library opened its doors August 4, 1997. It occupies much of the Mackay Mines Building on the Quad of the UNR Campus and consolidated the collections of the former Mines and Engineering Libraries. It is considered one of the finest academic mining collections in the country.
The Geological Society of Nevada is a non-profit, educational organization whose principal objective is to promote the advancement of geological sciences, especially as they relate to Nevada. GSN supports the dissemination of information through meetings, field trips, publications and academic endeavors. Membership is open to professional geologists, students, prospectors or anyone else with an interest in the geological sciences and/or the goals of the GSN.
Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology offers an online information directory containing a complete list of NBMG publications along with prices and ordering information, articles from the quarterly newsletter Nevada Geology, a list of services available at NBMG, a summary of NBMG research activities, indexes of U.S. Geological Survey digital line graphs and digital elevation models, and information on agencies using or producing digital data in Nevada. NBMG geologists are available to answer a variety of inquiries on the geology and mineral resources of Nevada.
UNR's Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering Department offers information on admission to the program, participating faculty, current research of the faculty and students, and course schedules for both chemical and metallurgical engineering programs.
